What Castle Rock HOAs actually enforce
Covenants across The Meadows, Terrain, Cobblestone Ranch, Crystal Valley, Founders Village, and Metzler Ranch differ in wording but converge on the same handful of expectations. They are about neighborhood appearance and safety, not about blocking your project.
- Bin on the driveway — not the street, sidewalk, trail, or common area
- Short visible duration; several covenants use a roughly one-week ceiling
- Debris kept below the fill line so wind does not scatter it
- No blocked mailbox clusters, hydrants, or shared access lanes
- Some architectural committees ask for advance notice on larger projects
Town of Castle Rock: when a permit applies
Private-property placement needs no town permit. If the container must sit in the public street or right-of-way, apply for right-of-way approval before delivery and expect conditions around markings and visibility.
New-build lots in Terrain and Cobblestone Ranch are the common exception — there the bin usually goes on the pad or graded area, which is private property and needs no permit.
Placement that keeps you out of trouble
Castle Rock driveways are typically wide and flat, so a 20-yard fits without crowding the apron and a 30-yard fits on many new-build lots. Park cars on the street the night before so the driver has a clear line, and pick which side the door should face based on where the work is happening.
Our bins run on driveway-friendly rubber wheels, which matters on newer stamped concrete drives common in Douglas County.
Timing your rental around covenant limits
The cheapest way to satisfy a duration rule is to stage the work before delivery. Demo into piles, then take the bin for 3 days and load hard. If a project genuinely runs long, a swap-out resets the clock and keeps a single container from sitting on the drive for weeks.
- 3-day rental: single-room remodel, roof tear-off, garage purge
- 7-day rental: basement finish, multi-room remodel, whole-home cleanout
- Swap-out: long builds and phased projects with a strict visibility limit
