Start with the size, not the price
Almost every bad dumpster rental experience in Colorado Springs starts with the wrong size. Book too small and you either pay weight overages or need a second haul. Book too big and you pay for air. Size the bin to the job first, then compare flat prices.

Where the dumpster goes on your property
Most Colorado Springs deliveries land on the driveway. Our roll-offs ride on driveway-friendly rubber wheels, so we can set a bin on concrete or asphalt without gouging it. We need roughly 60 feet of straight approach and about 23 feet of overhead clearance to raise the bed — low branches and carport overhangs are the usual obstacles in older neighborhoods like Old Colorado City and the Broadmoor.
Steep or gravel drives in Rockrimmon, Cheyenne Cañon, and the Black Forest edge are still workable; we usually stage a 20-yard near the garage apron rather than pushing a 30 up the grade.
Permits, HOAs, and street placement
You do not need a City of Colorado Springs permit to put a dumpster on your own driveway. A permit or right-of-way approval comes into play when the container sits in the street, blocks a sidewalk, or occupies a parking lane — common downtown and in older infill areas.
HOAs in Briargate, Wolf Ranch, Cordera, and Flying Horse frequently require driveway placement and limit how long a bin stays visible. A 3-day rental usually satisfies those covenants with room to spare.
Weight limits and the fill line
Disposal is priced by the ton, which is why heavy material like concrete, dirt, tile, and shingles belongs in a smaller bin even when volume is left over. Every container also has a 'do not fill above this line' marking — loads must stay level with it so the bin can be legally tarped and hauled.
